Central and State governments fully prepared to deal with Covid: Anurag Thakur

Dharamshala: The Center and the State Governments are fully prepared to deal with Covid-19 pandemic and oxygen, PPE kits and essential medicines are being made available regularly in the districts, Union Minister of state for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur said on Monday.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of Covid with Kangra District Administration and Health Department through video-conferencing from Delhi.
He said that proper care should be taken in the hospital for the treatment of Covid infected patients and regular contact should be made through telephone for Covid infected patients living in isolation at their homes in order to maintain the morale of Covid infected patients. Anurag Thakur said that people should also be made aware to protect themselves from infection and should be motivated to maintain social distance, use the masks, wash hands frequently and at the same time boost the testing capacity so that Covid is prevented of the spreading.
Mr Thakur said that people should be made aware for the Covid Vaccination and in the second phase, the people of the age group of 18 to 45 years should also be systematically covered so that more and more people can be benefited.
On this occasion, Union State Finance Minister Anurag Thakur got detailed information about Covid hospitals and Covid infected patients in Kangra district and other arrangements made by the government and district administration were also discussed in detail.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati informed the meeting said that in eight private hospitals besides Zonal Hospital Dharamshala, Medical College Tanda, Ayurvedic College, Paprola in Kangda district, treatment facility for Covid patients has started, while a Makeshift Hospital in Parour was coming up where treatment facility will start by May 15. He said that there is no shortage of oxygen in Kangra district. Oxygen cylinder godowns have also been set up in the Zilla Parishad Hall of Dharamshala, while regular supply of oxygen is coming from Baddi to Palampur. On this occasion, CMO Gurdarshan Singh also presented his report in detail about Covid-19 in Kangra district.
