Former ISRO Scientist Nambi Narayanan welcomes SC order in 1994 ISRO Espionage case

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 15: Former ISRO Scientist Dr Nambi Narayanan on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court Order handing over to CBI for further action, the Justice DK Jain Committee report on the erring police officials who had implicated him in the 1994 ISRO Espionage case.
Talking to newspersons here, the 79-year-old former scientist said "I am happy. If there was any political conspiracy, it should also be revealed."
"Because of the fabricated case, the transfer of cryogenic technology was delayed. The country lost 15 years of time.
Though the country ad accessed the technology in 2014, it should have been in use since 1999," he asserted.
It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his election campaign in the state on April 19, 2019, alleged that Congress never respected Scientists, recalling the fate of Scientist Nambi Narayanan who was dragged into the spy case by that party politicians.
Following a order from the Apex Court, the Kerala Government had paid Rs 50 lakh compensation to Dr Narayanan in 2018 for causing him immense humiliation in connection with the 1994 espionage case.
