GDC Marh organises awareness on “Substance Abuse”

JAMMU, APRIL 03: Government Degree College, Marh organised a one day Awareness lecture about “Substance Abuse" under the Psychological Counselling and De- Drug Addiction Cell of the College.
The programme was dedicated to Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsov, 75 years of India’s Independence. The Principal of the College Prof. Aekta Gupta formally inaugurated the Programme and made the students aware about the problem of substance abuse among the society which has very bad effects on the physical and mental health of the addict persons.
The proceeding of the programme was conducted by Asha Kumari, Convenor and Satish Kumar, Co-Convenor of Psychological Cell. The Resource Person of the programme was Vinay Lata; Assistant Prof Psychology in Government College Of Education, Jammu. She spoke at length about the causes, effects and preventive measures against the Substance Abuse. A meeting was also held with the student Counsellors for identification of cases related to substance abuse, so that proper Psychological support along with treatment can be provided to them. The programme concluded with Vote of thanks by Dr. Shakun Sharma
