Not everyone happy in party

Jammu: The much publicised visit of former leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and ex- Chief Minister of erstwhile state, Ghulam Nabi Azad marked with marked with exposure of infighting within faction ridden Jammu and Kashmir Congress.
One faction known as loyalist of Azad accorded him rousing reception on streets but they were not present in official function at party headquarter at Jammu.
The loyalist faction led by former legislative assembly speaker Tara Chand welcomed Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad at Jammu Airport at 11 am.
Tara Chand has maintained distance from the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee and but know close aide of Azad.
Tara Chand lined up first in a queue to welcome Azad, who arrived first time after completing his Rajya Sabha tenure.
Other leaders, who welcome Azad at airport are former J&K Congress president Peerzada Mohammad Sayed, former minister GM Saroori, Jugal Kishore, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Subhash Gupta and Naresh Gupta.
The loyalist faction accompanied the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir to his residence and skipped the official function at party headquarter in Jammu.
Party insiders told The News Now, Azad arrived at party headquarters at around 4 PM, where he was welcomed by another faction led by JKPCC president G A Mir and other leaders like Raman Bhalla, Yogesh Sahni.
“Infighting came out in open by gesture adopted GA Mir to welcome senior congress leader,” they said.
“When Azad arrives in party office, the leaders like Raman Bhalla and Yogesh Sahni presented flower bokeh later G A Mir shake hands with Azad after he enter the party office,” they added.
During his three day visi in Jammu t Azad will be attending social and religious functions of Gandhi Global Family, Guru Ravi Dass Sabha anf Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust before returning to Delhi on Sunday.
When PM Modi got emotional while talking about the senior Congress leader in Parliament, there were speculations that the latter might join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Modi heaped praise on Azad and called him a leader who cared for his party, country, and Parliament.
However, in an interview days before his retirement, Azad said, “I will join the BJP when we have black snow in Kashmir.”
He said he has known Modi since the 90s when they would participate in TV debates. He added they fought, and even shared a cup of tea. Azad maintained that those who say he will join the BJP or spread these rumours do not know him.
