UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 26: Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ashok Kumar today chaired a meeting of District Level Committee (DLC) to review and approve the proposals under Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme under ‘one District one product (ODOP)’.
During the meeting, Area Marketing Officer, Horticulture Planning &Marketing, Ashwani Kumar, who is the Nodal Officer, gave a detailed power point presentation for the implementation of the scheme in the District. He apprised the members about the scheme in detail. He informed that one specific product has been notified in each district of the UT under One District One product and the product specified for Udhampur district is pickles.
He added, that this scheme will help in formalization for all existing and new pickle units which otherwise are informal and unorganized because of which they are lacking in quality production, branding and marketing. They are also deficient in capital investment and credit facility which leads to their in-competitiveness in the market and forward linkage to access other common services. He said that under the scheme, credit link subsidy at the rate of 35%, is given to eligible beneficiaries with ceiling on subsidy up to maximum 10 lakhs. “Only 10% cost of the project will be contributed by the beneficiary and rest amount will be given by the financial institutes as loan” he informed.
While addressing the meeting, the ADDC appreciated the tireless efforts made by the Horticulture Planning & Marketing department and other allied departments. He asked them to expedite the process and aware the general public about the scheme so that the common masses can avail maximum benefits of the same.
