Thief held in Srinagar, stolen tyres recovered
Srinagar, Feb 26: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a thief and recovered stolen tyres in Srinagar, a police spokesman said.
He said on February 24, one Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, resident of Firdousabad Batmaloo Srinagar, owner of M/S Unique Traders Batmaloo reported that a large number of tyres were missing from his warehouse located at Diyarwani Batmaloo.
The complainant suspected one of his salesman involved in the crime.
Accordingly a case FIR No: 18/2021 u/s 381 IPC was registered in Police Station Batmaloo and investigation taken up.
The suspect salesman was held and thoroughly questioned, spokesman said.
On questioning the suspect admitted that he was stealing and selling tyres from the store since long. On his disclosure 42 tyres of different vehicles were recovered from Kanihama Budgam.
More disclosures and recoveries are expected, he added.
