20,000 to supervise over 350 centers

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) is all prepared and geared for conducting one of the largest exams hitherto to fill 8500 class IV posts, starting from February 27, in over 350 centers across Jammu and Kashmir.
“Over 4 lakh candidates have applied for the posts and they will appear for exam in different centers across the Union Territory under strict guidelines issued by the board and the government,” an official told The News Now.
Chairman JKSSB, Khalid Jehangir, in an interview said, ” the board is all set to conduct recruitment tests for over 8500 class IV posts across 350 plus centers throughout the Union Territory”.
Emphasising the never before proportions of the candidates he said, “These Exams, scheduled on the 27th February, 28th February and the 1st March, will be conducted with great care and efficiency.” He also added that a work force of 20,000 has been prepared to undertake the job.
He said, “the board is committed to transparency, fairness and efficacy.” While speaking on the management of the task he told that the District Administration cooperates duly with the board in the transportation and security of the question papers, answer sheets and other resources important for the conduct of tests.
He said, while responding to a question on the arrangements for the specially abled candidates, “scribes and extra time will be allotted to facilitate the specially abled candidates.”
Affirming the ability of the board he stressed that the procedure used to undertake the task is a multilayered supervision structure tested by time. Further talking on the conduct he added, “The ADCs of the concerned districts have been nominated by the GAD as the observers for the centres throughout the district.”
The security of the centres, he said, will be supervised by the security wing of the J&K Police and also by the SSPs of the districts.
Assuring the Board’s preparation for the Covid situation he said, “the centers have been chosen with due care and only half capacity of a hall will be used to ensure proper social distancing”. He added, “SoPs have been taken proper care of.”
Speaking on the board’s commitment to accelerated recruitment programme of the government he said, “the board will ensure timely evaluation and results for the exams.” He also said, reaffirm the commitment to the same that the results for the exams conducted for the posts of Accounts assistants for Panchayats are in the final stage and will be declared soon.
