Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir recorded 74 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the infection tally to 1,26,093, even as no fresh death due to the virus was reported in the past 24 hours, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 20 were from the Jammu division and 54 from the Kashmir division of the Union Territory, they said.

The officials said Srinagar district recorded the highest of 19 cases followed by 14 in Baramulla district and 11 in Udhampur district.

While eight districts did not report any fresh case, nine districts had cases in single digits.

The number of active has risen to 771 in the Union Territory, while 1,23,367 patients have recovered so far, the officials said.

The death toll in the UT due to the disease is 1,955 as no fresh death was reported from Jammu and Kashmir in the past 24 hours, they added.

With 69 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 1,23,367, which is 97.86 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 19 from Srinagar, 14 from Baramulla, three from Budgam, four from Pulwama, two from Kupwara, nine from Anantnag, one from Ganderbal and two from Kulgam while 20 from Jammu division include seven from Jammu, 11 from Udhampur, one from Doda and one from Kishtwar,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 26,853 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,074 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,230 including 175 deaths and 7,983 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,870 including 7,707 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Budgam, 5,846 including 5,712 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,679 including 96 deaths and 5,574 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,001 including 4,875 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,713 cases including 4,635 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,665 including 4,599 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,723 including 2,655 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,602 including 2,540 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,186 including 24,709 recoveries and 373 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,278 including 4,182 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,818 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,437 including 3,372 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,258 including 3,203 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,839 including 2,792 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,736 including 2,711 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,520 including 2,482 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,646 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin, 1,282,976 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,417 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 771 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,135,374 persons have completed surveillance period and 110,459 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,090,890 samples are available.

Out of 5,090,890, the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,964,797 while 126,093 have tested positive, among them 771 persons are active, 123,367 persons have recovered and 1,955 persons have died
