IG BSF Jammu hoists largest Tri-colour in Jammu
Jammu: On the occasion of the 72nd Republic Day, N S Jamwal, IG, BSF, Jammu on Tuesday hoisted one of the largest National Flag (30 x 20 feet) at BSF Border Out Post Octroi with great fervor and enthusiasm, here on the city outskirts.
The flag is tallest in the Jammu region, flying at 131 feet high pole, which can be seen even from a distance in Pakistan.
IG BSF Jammu before hoisting the flag at BOP Octroi, unfurled the National Flag at BSF HQrs in Jammu.
IG BSF wished the border men & their families on the occasion. He also wished the people of Jammu and extended his warm greetings on behalf of Border Security Force. The hoisting of flag at Octroi was possible because of sponsorship of Lupin Foundation, J&K tourism and Administration. Inauguration of 131 feet National Flag at BOP Octroi would serve as an important landmark for the people visiting the Jammu Border.
A colourful cultural program was organised at BSF Octroi to mark the 72nd year of Republic of India. Cultural performances by BSF troopers, Regional Outrich Bureau, J&K Tourism, Harman Dance Institute, local cultural artists school children and BSF Bhangra team was given at the venue. The IG thanked the Lupin Foundation, local administration, teachers and all participants of cultural program.
The program was attended by N S Jamwal, IG, BSF, Jammu, Surjit Singh, DIG, SK Singh, DIG, Hari Lal, DIG, Sh Ajay Suryavanshi, Commandant and other senior Officers of BSF & Jawans.
The program was also attended by the Officers from the J&K Police and Local Administration and locals of nearby areas.
The SDM (RS Pura) RL Sharma also handed over the Land Ownership Deed of the BOP Octroi and informed that the pending cases of land transfer of BSF BOPs will also be settled within one month.
