#MARKET_UPDATE || Sensex up 160 pts
Mumbai, Jan 20: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday gained further by 160 points to 49,558.88 in opening trade, following brisk buying in Materials, Health Care, Industrials and IT stocks.
The Nifty too rose by 52.90 pts to 14,574.05.
The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 49,607.15 and 49,373.68 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 14,588 and 14,517.55 respectively.
In 30 scrips 18 advanced and 12 declined.
The gainers were Tech Mahindra by 2.62 pc to Rs 1018.65, HCL Technologies by 2.17 pc to Rs 1004.95, Industrials by 2.12 pc to Rs 1345, TCS by 1.37 pc to Rs 3309.80 and Axis Bank by 1.03 pc to Rs 675.40.
The losers were NTPC by 1.10 pc to Rs 98.55, Powergrid by 1.05 pc to Rs 197.70, ITC by 0.89 pc to Rs 216.95 and Industrial Bank by 0.91 pc to Rs 931.60.
