JTGC organizes Lohri festival kids putting camp

JAMMU: To inculcate competitive spirit among the children, Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC) Sidhra organized ‘Lohri Festival Kids Putting Camp’, here on Saturday.
Principal Secretary, Power Development Department, Rohit Kansal was Chief Guest on the occasion. While addressing the gathering, he said that putting contest is an innovative way to entice budding players towards the game of golf and nurture talent in Jammu and Kashmir.
Secretary, JTGC Manav Gupta averred that such events will be organized on regular basis to encourage young golfers. “JTGC is also working to establish a full-fledged Golf Academy”, he said adding that the initiative will provide all the facilities and training modules required to hone budding golfers.
The event was divided into two age categories of children viz. under 9 years and under 13 years. A total of 16 children between the age group of 5 to 13 years took part in the competition.

In under 13 years category, Reyan Satya Gupta got 1st rank, Shambhavi Gupta got 2nd rank and Abdullah Daud got 3rd rank.
In under 9 years category, Armaan Kansal got 1st rank, Tehleel Ahmed got 2nd rank and Adhyayan Langer got 3rd rank.
Pertinently, these budding golfers were trained by National Golf Academy of India (NGAI) certified Professional Coach Rohit Gupta. Among others, parents and sports lovers were also present on the occasion.
