World AIDS Day: GDC Rajouri organizes online awareness activities

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 02: The Red Ribbon Club, Government Degree College (GDC) Nowshera organized various online activities to mark the “World AIDS Day”, 2020.
On the theme “Global solidarity, shared responsibility” the 2 different events were organized i.e. “Face mask designing contest” and “Poster making competition" on the theme "Prevention of HIV/AIDS”.
The main purpose of organizing these activities was to raise awareness among the students about this deadly disease i.e. HIV/AIDS and to provide them a platform to express their drawing, painting, designing and sewing skills.
In the Face mask designing contest, a number of students participated and Shiv Priya Sharma (B. Sc.- I) secured First place, Kajal Sudan (B. Sc.-V) stood Second and Esha Sharma (B. Sc.-III) bagged Third position.
In the Poster making competition on the theme “Prevention of HIV/AIDS”, the participants expressed various ways used for prevention of this deadly disease. Harpreet Singh (B.Sc.-I) from GDC Nowshera bagged First position, the second place was claimed by Sanjana Sharma (B.Sc.-III)of GDC Nowshera. Asia Khatoon (B. Sc.-V) from GDC Poonch stood Third in this event.
All these activities were organized by Prof. Pooja Devi, Nodal Officer Red Ribbon Club, GDC Nowshera under the able guidance and supervision of Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal of the College.
Prof. Nisha and Dr. Shveta Saroop from GDC Kathua adjudged the events. The top 3 positions in each event were provided “e-Certificates of Excellence”.
