Polling parties dispatched for Shangus and Chittergul Blocks in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, NOVEMBER 30: Ahead of the Phase-II of District Development Council (DDC) elections and Panchayat by-elections, 206 designated polling parties along with election/poll material were today dispatched to the Polling stations set up in Shangus and Chittergul blocks.
The distribution of Poll material among the Polling Parties along with their departure from the Distribution Centre was done amid tight security and in observance of covid-19 protocol under the supervision of Tehsildar Shangus and BDOs of the twin blocks.
Under this phase, polling will be held for DDC seat Shangus (comprising Shangus and Chittergul blocks) and for the Panch and Sarpanch vacancies(where ever necessary) in these two blocks on 1st December, 2020.
Meanwhile, District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Anantnag, K. K. Sidha reviewed the arrangements and Basic Minimum Facilities (BMF’s) like accommodation for polling staff, food, bedding, heating and lighting facilities, provision of drinking water etc in the Polling stations besides facilities for specially-abled voters.
