DDC elections: Internet service suspended in Shopian, Pulwama

Srinagar: Authorities today suspended Internet Services in Shopian and Pulwama on first phase polling day of District Development Council Elections.

Sources said that students who are appearing in 10th and 12th exams are facing difficulties due to snapping of internet services.

Thought polling for first phase of DDC elections is going in other parts of Kashmir Valley as well but no internet service has been suspended in those areas on Saturday.

The DDC polls and Panchayat by-elections began in parts of Jammu and Kashmir today amid tight security arrangements.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar said, that internet service has been suspended due to security reasons and be restored late in the evening after the polling is over.
