Jammu: The district election authority on Friday suspended nine government employees for dereliction of duty and five teachers posted in schools of different districts placed under suspension after they were found in election campaigns as wellas display partiality towards particular political parties in the ongoing DDC/ Panchayat elections
"Acting tough against the non-seriousness and deliberate absence in election duties, District Panchayat Election Officer Sagar D Doifode issued the suspension order," the spokesperson said.
As per the order, the suspended employees should remain attached in the office of Deputy DEO office in Doda.
Besides, the Additional District Development Commissioner has been asked to make a detailed inquiry into the matter and report within a week, he said.
He also infomed that the five teachers posted in different schools situated in Rajouri,Poonch and Kishtwar were today placed under suspension and a communiqué in this connection was sent to the Education Department after they were found in election campaigns and display partiality towards particular political parties in the ongoing DDC/ Panchayat elections.
Meanwhile Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Commissioner /Secretary to the government General Administration Department today issued circular impressing upon all administrative secretaries, Divisional Commissioners,Deputy Commissioners and HoDs to maintain vigil and ensure that no government employee displays any partiality towards any political party.
Earlier, the State Election Commissioner (SEC) KK Sharma wrote to Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam on complaints about certain Government employees participating in the election campaign for District Development Council (DDC)/Panchayat elections in violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
