PAGD announces seat sharing for DDC Phase-5 elections

Srinagar: The People’s Alliance of Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), amalgam of political parties in Kashmir on Sunday announced seat sharing for the fifth phase of District Development Council (DDC) elections, election of which will be held on December 10.

The last date of filling the nominations is on 23rd, November.

The list of seat sharing for the fifth phase of District Development Council elections were announced on the official twitter handle of People’s Alliance of Gupkar Declaration, which was approved by former Chief Minister and PAGD president Dr. Farooq Abdullah.

According the seat sharing list agreed upon by the parties in the alliance, out of 16 seats, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference will contest election on 8 seats, while Peoples Democratic Party on 5, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference on 2, and Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement has got one seat.

While as Communist party of India (Marxist) has not been included in the seat sharing of fifth phase of District Development Council elections. Further as per the seat sharing list, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference will fight elections in Tujja Sharief Baramulla, Devsar A and Devsar B in Kulgam, Litter Pulwama, Dadsara Pulwama, Qadirabad Kupwara, Wakura A & Wakura B in Ganderbal district.

While Peoples Democratic Party will contest elections in Dachnipora Anantnag, Rathsun Budgam, Arin Bandipora, Harmain 1 and Harmain 2 in Shopian district. Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference will contest elections from Parenpillan Baramulla and Rajwar Kupwara district, while Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement will contest elections from Vessu Anantnag.

Earlier this month, the Jammu and Kashmir government for the first time had announced District Development Council elections in Union Territory in the month of December in eight phased manners in 280 constituencies.
