IPL: Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets
Jammu, October 22: In the Indian Premier League Cricket, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by eight wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi last night. The Bangalore based franchise were handed a target of 85 runs by KKR, which they managed to chase down in 13.3 overs. Opener Devdutt Padikkal was the highest run-scorer with 25 runs.
Earlier, KKR were restricted to 84 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Skipper Eoin Morgan with 30 runs was the top scorer. The RCB bowlers were excellent, with Mohammed Siraj the star performer. Siraj accounted for three dismissals while conceding only eight runs. He further became the first bowler to deliver two maiden overs in an IPL match. He was declared Player of the Match. The pacer received quality support from spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who picked two wickets.
Delhi Capitals with 14 points are presently leading the points table while Royal Challengers Bangalore also with 14 points are on the second spot. Mumbai Indians with 12 points are on the third position and KKR are holding on the fourth position with 10 points. Today, Rajasthan Royals will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai.
