Atmosphere reverberates with slogans for restoration of Statehood, protection to jobs & land

Jammu, October 4: Apni Party has reiterated demand for the restoration of Statehood in view of strong resentment against the Union Territory status to Jammu and Kashmir shown by the leaders and workers of Domana in its first Active Worker’s Convention organised here on Sunday.
The demand was raised by the Apni Party Provincial President and Former Minister Manjit Singh after people raised their serious concern over the UT status to Jammu and Kashmir which has a vast history of 200 years.
“We assure you that Apni Party will leave no stone unturned in its struggle for the restoration of Statehood to J&K,” Manjit Singh responded when workers started sloganeering for the restoration of Statehood and protection to land and jobs during an active leaders and workers convention which was organised at Main Domana near Shiv Temple.
The convention was organised by the Schedule Caste Wing Coordinator of J&K Bodh Raj Bhagat in which Apni Party’s OBC State Coordinator Madan Lal Chalotra, OBC leader Jagdesh Raj Panday, Shanker Singh Chib, Ajaz kazami Sardeesh Rana, Gourav Kapoor, Tariq Leo, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan and many other prominent leaders participated.
The Former Minister Manjit Singh said that they will work for the unity of the two regions and equal development while explaining the agenda and policy of the Apni Party to the workers.
“Party’s President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has time and again raised the issue of statehood, protection to land and jobs. We have committed to the people what is achievable for the people of J&K,” he said.
Manjit Singh made it clear that the Party wants preference of local educated youth in the industrial sector.
“We will try to fix a ratio to ensure that the local youth are given preference in jobs in the industrial sector in J&K. Not only people have reservations regarding Govt jobs but the people are equally concerned about their job security in the private sector,” said Manjit Singh.
Concerning the worst condition of roads in Raipur-Domana assembly constituency, Manjit Singh the administration has failed to provide basic infrastructure in Domana like roads, lanes, drains and cleanliness. “It was surprising to see hanging live wires in several areas of electricity and the PDD has yet to wake-up from the deep slumber,” he said when appraised about the local leaders of the Apni Party from Domana.
In his address, Manjit Singh also expressed concern over the slow pace of work on Akhnoor highway which has made normal life miserable and the commuters are made to suffer.
