23 more deaths, 1036 new Covid +ve cases

JAMMU/SRINAGAR: Twenty three fatalities related to coronavirus infection in a day took the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1024, even as the deadly virus continued its upward movement, with 1036 people testing positive for deadly virus on Monday , taking the overall tally of infections to 65,026.
It was for the 18th consecutive day that the cases in a 24-hour period have crossed 1,000.
Of the fresh deaths, 14 were reported from Jammu and 9 from the Valley.
With the 24 deaths the toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 1024 including 778 from Kashmir division and 246 from Jammu division.
Out of fresh 1036 reported cases, 473 were reported in Valley and 563 in Jammu region. As many as 720 patients were discharged from the hospitals following their treatment—720 in Jammu and 438 in Kashmir. With this the recoveries also saw a massive rise, settling 42115 while actives now stand at 21887.
As per a media bulletin, of 563 cases in Jammu region, 245 were reported from Jammu, 66 from Rajouri, 15 from Ramban, 34 from Kathua, 30 from Udhampur, 57 from Samba, 59 from Doda, 24 from Poonch, 26 from Reasi and 7 from Kishtwar.
Among the 473 fresh Valley cases, 141 were reported from Srinagar, 79 from Baramulla, 54 from Pulwama, 5 from Kulgam, 6 from Shopian, 36 from Anantnag, 60 from Budgam, 14 from Kupwara, 22 from Bandipora and 56 from Ganderbal.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19),
out of 65026 positive cases, 21887 are Active Positive, 42115 have recovered and 1024 have died; 246 in Jammu division and 778 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 1415364 test results available, 1350338 samples have been tested as negative till September 21, 2020.
Till date 548355 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 27819 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 21887 in isolation and 61819 under home surveillance. Besides, 435806 persons have completed their surveillance period.
