82,575 cases of cyber crimes reported in country between 2014 & 2018: G. Kishan Reddy

NEW DELHI: Cyber crimes are increasing in the country and a total of 82 thousand 575 cases of cyber crimes have been reported in the country during the year 2014 to 2018. This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs G. Kishan Reddy in the Rajya Sabha today.
The Minister informed that a maximum number of 27 thousand 248 cases have been reported in the year 2018 followed by 21 thousand 796 cases in 2017 and 12 thousand 317 cases in the year 2016.
Mr. Reddy informed that the maximum number of six thousand 280 cases related to Cyber crimes have been reported in Uttar Pradesh followed by 5 thousand 839 cases in Karnataka.
