Admin mulling to digitize details of projects, works

JAMMU: With an objective to scrutinize and keep tab on the pace of project execution, the Jammu and Kashmir administration is mulling to digitize data related to the three phases of precious programme ‘Back to Village’.
“The data including the number of projects under three phases of Back to Village programme, number of projects completed and the projects facing delay will be digitized,” an official associated with the programme told The News Now.
He added that the digitalization of the data will help higher official to easily monitor the projects and take necessary measures to complete the projects in stipulated time. “The concerned deputy commissioners of all the districts have been asked to prepare data as soon as possible,” he said.
“Once the data will be prepared, then Chief Secretary will take a call on publication of data in the public domain or keep it assessable to government officials,” he added.
The Phase-I of B2V was an introductory and interactive programme to understand the people's grievances and demands. While Phase-II focused on the devolution of powers to panchayats and tried to understand how these panchayats are functioning and what are the grievances and demands and Phase-III has been designed on the format for grievance redressal.
The third phase of Back to Village programme will begin from 2nd October to 12th October 2020. Moreover, this time the administration has also decided to hold a three-week pre-Back to Village Jan Abhiyan which will be organised from September 10-20 and will have three components. The three components of pre-Back to Village are public grievances (Jan Sunvaiyee), public service delivery (Adhikar Abhiyan) and delivery of development at Gram Panchayat level (Unat Gram Abhiyan).
In this regard, the government has also constituted committee to finalize the schedule of the Back to village-3, design content of the Programme, decide upon the exact information/details to be collected at the Panchayat level and also decide upon the activities to be undertaken during the Programme (to be coordinated by Planning Development & Monitoring Department and Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj).
Besides, the Committee will also oversee allocation of the officers to Panchayats (to be coordinated by General Administration Department and Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj).
The committee will also disseminate information about the Programme among the various stakeholders for generating awareness (to be coordinated by the Information Department.
