#COVID19 || India tally 47.40 lakh
NEW DELHI: With a single-day increase of over 94 thousand cases, India's COVID-19 tally crossed 47-lakh mark on Saturday, while the death toll crossed 78 thousand with over 1100 people succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours.
According to Union health ministry data updated on Saturday morning, India's COVID-19 caseload raced past 46 lakh with a record 97,570 infections being reported in a day, while 36,24,196 people have recuperated so far taking the national recovery rate to 77.77 per cent.
The total number of coronavirus cases has mounted to 46,59,984, while the death toll climbed to 77,472 with 1,201 people succumbing to the infection in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am showed.
However, by the evening, a tally of figures showed that India's COVID-19 count has reached 47,40,817, a spike of 94112 cases.
The tally compiled with information provided by respective states and union territories latest by 9:00 pm, showed India's death toll at 78491; and recoveries at 36,88,982, an increase of 1118 and 78167, respectively.
