Shah mourns loss of lives in Ahmedabad hospital fire

New Delhi, Aug 6: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday expresses grief over the loss of lives in a fire that broke out in a Ahmadabad hospital and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
Taking to twitter, Mr Shah said, 'Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to a tragic fire accident at hospital in Ahmedabad. My condolences and thoughts are with the affected families in this hour of grief.'
He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
A fire broke out around 0330 hrs on the fourth floor of a four-storied private hospital in Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad, leaving eight COVID-19 patients dead.
The deceased comprise five men and three women who were being treated at the ICU ward of the COVID-19 designated Shrey Hospital, the local fire officials said.
