2 Punjab based drug smugglers arrested, 92 Kilograms of Poppy Straw recovered: Police

JAMMU: District Police Kathua today claimed to have arrested two Punjab based drug smugglers and recovered 92 Kilograms of Poppy straw from their possession at Rajbagh in District Kathua.

According to the reliable sources information, a team of Rajbagh Police station headed by inspector Bhupinder Singh SHO Rajbagh Police station laid vehicle Nakka checking at Jammu Pathankot National Highway at Krishanpur under the jurisdiction of Rajbagh Police station. During the checking Police intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB06AW - 0764, during checking of the vehicle police recovered 92 Kilograms of Poppy straw from the said truck. Police arrested driver of the truck and his associate on spot and seized the contraband items.

The acussed have been identified as Sarvjeet Singh Son of Malkit Singh and Sukhdev Singh Son of Anoop Singh both are resident of Gurdaspur Punjab.

In this regard police has taken cognizance the matter and seized the truck.
