Covid-19 recovery rate improves to 64.52 pct in country

The Health and Family Welfare Ministry today said, a total of 10 lakh 94 thousand 374 people have recovered in the country so far and 36 thousand 569 recoveries have been reported in the past 24 hours. With this, the recovery rate reached 64.52 per cent. The mortality rate due to coronavirus has further declined to 2.15 per cent in the country.

The Health Ministry said, highest number of 57 thousand 118 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country in one day taking the total number of cases to 16 lakh 95 thousand 988. Presently, the total number of active corona cases in the country is five lakh 65 thousand 103. In a single day, 764 deaths have been reported taking the nationwide toll to 36 thousand 511.

Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research said that a total of five lakh 25 thousand 689 tests of corona virus samples were conducted by the various laboratories within 24 hours. So far, one crore 93 lakh 58 thousand 659 tests have been conducted in the country.

At present, one thousand 339 laboratories across India are conducting the tests for Covid-19 including 911 government laboratories and 428 private laboratory chains.
