Govt appealed to repair roads, improve connectivity: Raqeeq Ahmed Khan

Jammu, July 8: Expressing concern over the shabby condition of roads in Mendhar tehsil, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP), senior youth leader, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan today appealed Government to repair the worst condition of roads which is causing inconvenience to the commuters and people of the border tehsil of Poonch district.
Issuing a press statement over the bad condition of the roads, the JKAP, senior youth leader, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan said that the concerned department has turned blind eyes towards the conditions of the roads where the common masses have to face problems with every passing day.
Khan said that the roads like Bimber Gali to Mendhar, Uchad to Kasblari, Sakhi Madain to Thera Topa and Mendhar to Sakhi Madain, have six to five kilometers of stretch in the worst condition.
“Mendhar to Chatral, Kalaban, Mendhar to Chunga, Mendhar to Harni, Ari, Mendhar to Surankote which connects Ari, Harni, and Gursai villages are also in same condition where only bullock-carts can be ride instead of vehicles,” said Khan.
He said that the condition of roads has impacted the normal life of the people and for a long time, they have raised their issues before the concerned department.
He said that the condition of the five kilometers stretch of PMGSY road Paramanar Morh to Harni via Parat is also in the worst condition and required repair work.
The JKAP senior youth leader demanded that the administration should ensure that the roads are repaired on all these roads. “If the demands are not accepted, the JKAP will take up issues at the higher level,” he warned.
Meanwhile, he expressed his shock over Rs 10 Crore bill to a poor farmer by the Power Development Department in Mendhar and demanded that the bill must be withdrawn.
“An order should be ordered to probe how a huge bill of electricity was sent to a poor man,” Khan demanded and said that this has caused harassment to the victim's family members.
The JKAP senior youth leader said that the department must punish the guilty official for issuing the unreasonable bills to the poor family members.
