Smuggling bids foiled by police, 24 bovines rescued in Rajouri.

Rajouri police has foiled separate bovine smuggling bids rescuing twenty four bovines from the clutches of smugglers.

Police said that on saturday evening, a team from Manjakote police station headed by SHO Pankaj Sharma was on routine patrolling near ZEO office when a goods carrier vehicle without registration number was intercepted and frisked with six bovines were rescued from it.

Two person namely Iftiqar Ahmed son of Mohammad Munshi resident of Niali Manjakote and Zulifqar Ahmed son of Mohammad Razaq resident of Thanda Pani were arrested on the spot.

Similarly, police said, Station House Officer Budhal Soom Raj alongwith his team was patrolling on Budhal Kandi road when at Rathar Mandi, a Tata Mobile JK11B 4487 was intercepted and six bovines being smuggled in it were rescued.

Smuggler identified as Mohammad Nazir son of Mohammad Shaban resident of Behrote Thanamandi was arrested on the spot and vehicle has also been seized.

Another team of police headed by Station House Officer Thanamandi, Fareed Ahmed was on naka checking at near Thanamandi town when a vehicle JK11B 0262 was intercepted at naka point and twelve bovines being smuggled in the vehicle were rescued.

Rajouri police said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations.
