#Market_Review || Sensex up by 249 pts
Mumbai, Jun 24: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday advanced by 249 pts to open at 35,679.74 on firm global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 58 pts to 10,529.25.
The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 35,681.92 and 35,515.76 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intraday high and low at 10,542.75 and 10,497.95 pts respectively.
The sectoral indices that rallied were Consumer Durable, Auto, Capital Goods and consumer discretionary goods and services in early trade.
The mid-cap advanced by 0.89 pc and Small Cap rose by 0.70 pc.
In 30 scrips, 22 advanced and 8 declined.
The gainers were Asian Paints by 4.08 pc to Rs 1752.35, ITC by 3.60 pc to Rs 192.60, Bajaj Auto by 2.01 pc to Rs 2919.10, Bajaj Finance by 1.82 pc to Rs 3083 and Titan by 1.43 pc to Rs 1012.75.
The losers were HCL Technologies by 1.27 pc to Rs 573.55, IndusInd Bank by 1.24 pc to Rs 514.20, Powergrid by 1.15 pc to Rs 185.60 and Bharti Airtel by 0.30 pc to Rs 576.70.
Bank of Baroda was up 9 per cent in opening deals after reporting a profit of Rs 507 crore in the March quarter of FY20 (Q4FY20).
As many as 85 companies, including the likes of Canara Bank, Indian Oil Corporation, GAIL, and India Cements, are scheduled to announce their March quarter earnings.
