Please tell us more about Pratibha Tiwari as a person.

As a person, I am very simple by nature and believe in God. Philosophy of my life is that, whatever is given to me, by my God in terms of persons, relations and things, are not only good but also perfect for me in every aspect. I believe in wholehearted acceptance of everything, which is meant for me, although this may lead to happiness or sadness. I am always full of zeal and love to spend time in reading, writing, coaching, experimenting and exploring new ideas and things. I feel that Independence and interdependency is equally important while being at work. I firmly believe in hard work and honesty.

Can you tell us more about your writing journey?

Well, I started writing since when I was in school. I have a habit of regular diary writing. My diary is one of my best buddies for sharing and decluttering the mind and the heart. As a child, I used to write poems or philosophical thoughts but I didn’t share these with anyone. As time went by and I grew up finally to be a software engineer, my writings culminated in the form of computer programmes. It was my first book which expressed my writing in front of the world along with the hidden poet and author in me.

Please tell us more about your book “Balance Your Emotions and Be Your Own Coach”.

This book is a guide which elucidates the importance of different emotions and their balancing. This book also describes different tools and techniques which can be applied by individuals when being in emotionally charged state for appropriate balancing of these emotions. Nevertheless, it is equally important to state that emotions are energy in motion, and when these emotions are balanced, one can perform best by being resourceful and mindful.

Who inspired you to write this book?

My mentor Mr. Vikram Dhar inspired me, and guided me to write this book. He is one among the best International NLP Trainers. I remember that I designed the outline and title of this book while attending one of the NLP practitioner programmes delivered by him. That was the first step. Afterwards, under his guidance, I converted this idea in the form of a book. There is a saying that, ‘Without Guru, there is no wisdom’, and it emphasises the importance of a real mentor who shows you the right path and guidance to grow in life. I am highly grateful to him for his continuous guidance which proved to be a great source of inspiration for me.

The book discusses about various NLP techniques, which is a behavioural approach for personal development. Can you tell us more about it?

NLP or Neuro-linguistic Programming is a modelling approach that offers a toolkit of approaches for dealing with life’s opportunities and challenges. It is a very practical discipline, concerned with bringing results into the real world now. If a person wants to grow in life, NLP provides solutions to make changes at the environmental, behavioural, belief system and value level and helps one to unleash one’s hidden potential.

What kind of research did you do for the book?

This book is based on real-life experiences. Whatever I learnt as a coach and counsellor, I collected the findings of those learnings and put them in the form of this book. Apart from that, I keep on reading articles, research papers and books to enhance my knowledge and keep myself updated.

What challenges did you face while writing this book?

While preparing the write-up for this book, I was trying to experience different kind of emotions, to understand them and pen them down vividly. As we all know ‘surprise’ emotion can be experienced only by getting surprised. This part was a little challenging for me. Moreover, this has been my first published book, and the writing and publishing of this book paved a learning phase for me where I learnt a lot by doing things.

Can you recommend some books from any genre, for our readers to add to their reading lists, that you particularly cherish?

“Dying To Be Me” by Anita Moorjani is one of my favourite books which helped me to deal with my sickness. There are various NLP and Emotional Intelligence books which can be considered as good transformational guides. I am a big fan of Rumi, I like to read his life philosophy and poetry.

There are many new writers and poets who are aspiring to get their work published. What would you say to them?

Anyone who can think has the capability to write. You just need some courage and hard work to put your ideas into the words. Anything which is sensed by the heart and intelligently put into words appeals to the reader and has vital impact.

What are you working on next?

I am working on my next book ‘Triumph Over Fear and Be Your Own Coach'. Apart from that, I am planning to publish my Hindi poems and quotes in a book format.

Can you share with our readers a motivational quote that keeps you going?

My tagline is ‘Live your passion with compassion’, it keeps me motivated always. True happiness and success go along with universal happiness. It’s my dream to grow along with people.
