DC Budgam convenes introductory cum review meeting with officers

BUDGAM, MAY 30: A Day after assuming charge as Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza today convened introductory meeting with all District & sectoral officer of the District. At the outset, Joint Director planning formally welcomed DC Budgam for assuming the charge. The meeting among others was attended by Rafiq Ahmad J.D planning, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf GM DIC Budgam, SE Hydraulics, SE EM &RE, CEO, ACD, DIO, EXENs of R&B, PHE,PDD, REW, Irrigation, PMGSY, and other concerned District and sectoral officers.
In his address, the DC Budgam stated that 'he shall extend full support to officers of District administration for prompt execution of work. The DC interacted with all officers of District administration and instructed them to remain committed and perform duty with utmost dedication.
During the meeting, J.D Planning highlighted the entire profile of District ranging from area, literacy, population, sex ratio, status of electricity, roads, water and other parameters of District. While taking the department wise review amid COVID-19, the DC instructed all executing agencies to apply for special COVID-19 permission passes with respect to construction of roads, buildings, laying of pipelines, installation of electric poles and transformers. It is pertinent to mention here that higher authorities have already granted permission to 156 projects/works to kick start developmental work in Budgam. The DC directed EXENs of all executing agencies to call for effective meeting with contractors so that issues related to labour & material are sorted out before hand.
The DC was apprised that MGNREGA action plan for 2020-21 stands approved with the target of 13 lac Person days and the work is going in full swing in all blocks of the District. It was also revealed in the meeting that under languishing projects, work is under process for 100 projects out of total 114 projects.
The DC emphasized that COVID-19 has posed a challenge for the entire District administration and in these circumstances it is incumbent upon all officers to accept the challenge and come up to the expectations of the people.
