First Covid-19 patient of Doda discharged after recovery

DODA, MAY 28: The Government Medical College and associated Hospital, Doda today discharged the first corona positive patient after recovery from infection. The discharged patient belongs to the district Doda and had a travel history of outside J&K.
The patient was admitted in the hospital after tested positive two weeks ago, it was informed that earlier her sample was taken in Jammu and after reaching at Doda she was put under administrative quarantine.
When she was tested positive, the said patient was immediately shifted in the isolation ward of the AH GMC Doda and was put under observation. After being tested negative thrice as per set SOP, the patient has been discharged today in the presence of DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode, CMO Doda, CMO Doda Dr M A Shah, MS Associated Hospital GMC Doda and other officers from Health Department.
On the occasion, while discharging the girl, she was presented with bouquet and some gift items as a part of goodwill gesture.
The DDC while speaking on the occasion said that as a part of precautionary measures, the discharged person must remain under home quarantine for the required period as per SOP after being discharged from the hospital. He said that there is no further risk of transmission after a person has recovered but one must remain isolated till completion of home quarantine period after hospital discharge.
Further, the DDC Doda added that district administration is highly equipped to tackle the situation for which a robust mechanism has put in place to fight the COVID-19 disease which includes aggressive sampling.
The discharged girl while talking to media persons lauded the efforts of district administration and Health Department for serving such patients with devotion and round the clock tirelessly.
