Appeals people to maintain social distance, use masks, download Arogya Setu App to remain updated


BANDIPORA, MAY 28: District Development Commissioner Bandipora Ravinder Kumar Thursday convened a meeting of officers to review the measures being taken by the district administration to tackle the COVID19 pandemic.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tajamul Hussain, Divisional Nodal Officer COVID, Dr Iftikar Gazi and other senior officers of the district.
On the occasion, Dr Tajamul and Dr Iftikhar briefed the DDC Bandipora about the measures taken by the district to tackle the pandemic including contact tracking, sampling, quarantine facilities, implementation of restrictions, and mandatory use of masks, awareness and other related activities.
The Deputy Commissioner praised the coordinated efforts of various departments in fighting the pandemic that resulted in curbing the spread of the disease. He asked the officers to continue to be alert and advised not to lower guard to win the war against this pandemic. He said with ease in restrictions, the frontline warriors need to be more alert.
He also appreciated the people’s cooperation to the administration in fight the pandemic. He appealed the public to continue to take precautions to avoid the spread of the infection. He stressed on maintain social distancing and universalization of masks.
Ravinder Kumar said with the easing of lockdown, it becomes important for all to use masks at public places including markets, banks and maintain social distancing.
He said advisories have been issued from time to time to the public to use masks and now it appears expedient to reiterate those directions in the interest of health of general public. He said the COVID19 pandemic has brought to the fore the importance of use of masks to contain spread of corona virus. He said the district administration distributed about three lac masks
DC Bandipora appealed the people to download the Aarogya Setu mobile app to help them in identifying risk of contracting the Coronavirus. He said the people can also use the app to alert authorities if they have come in close contact with a person infected with the deadly virus besides the app will inform people if there is any symptomatic patient in their vicinity.
Later the Deputy Commissioner visited relief camp established for migrant labours and interacted with the labourers. While interacting with them , he said arrangements are being made for shifting them back to their homes. He said during their stay at the relief centre they will ensure better facilities to them. He along with the Nodal Officer ISM Dr Iftikhar also distributed immune boosting medicines among the labourers.
He also inspected several quarantine facilities established in the district and took stock of the facilities being provided to the people under quarantine. He was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tajamul Hussain, District Information Officer Jehangeer Akhoon, Nodal Officer Mehraj Wani and other senior officers of the district.
He inspected the facilities made available at the quarantine centres established at ITI Bandipora, Forest Training Institute Chitternar, Dak Banglow Ayatmullah and took stock of the arrangements in place.
While interacting with the officials, he asked them to strictly follow the SoP with regard to the facilities prescribed by the WHO and Union Ministry, including daily clinical examination, establishment of infection prevention control measures, lodging, catering laundry, bio-medical waste management and other logistics.
