It is not normal life do not exert pressure to send quarantined home: DC

Srinagar, May 23: Urging people not to exert pressure for sending quarantined persons home without reports of Coronavirus test, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Shahid Choudhary said since the outbreak of Covid-19, world and life was not normal.

However, he said lockdown will ease in due course and hasty pursuits at this stage will prove disastrous.

Taking to micro-blogging site twitter Dr Choudhary said “ Since Covid outbreak, it’s not a normal world, it wasn’t normal Ramzan, isn’t going to be normal Eid. Please exert no pressure for sending quarantined home without reports. It’s not normal life”.

In another tweet he said “ Sorry, I don’t care for personal attacks. 12K+7.4K passed Qrntne peacefully. In this case ex ministers, officers, journalists exerting pressure. Why? Please wait for -ve report & go home. Care for your family, at least”.

He was responding to a tweet which reads “ This tweet goes out for@listenshahid who being a senior official couldn't help us out of this situation and we are still stuck here in this hell like quarantine centre. I called him many times just to ask for help but he really didn't even listen to me properly”.

He said, “Lockdown will ease in due course. Hasty pursuits at this stage will prove disastrous. Spent many hours on road to find disturbing locales. Stringent action initiated. Warranted enforcement to follow. Request cooperation to avoid all this”.

In another tweet he said “Great relief: 1016 returnees testing negative in quarantine moving home tonight; 2 Positive. Another 600+ received today. Thankful to all the colleagues for their efforts”.

He was responding to a tweet which alleged that “ 40 B’desh MBBS students at a hotel in Wazirbagh are telling me that they aren’t being discharged/permitted to go home after 14-day quarantine. Officials are allegedly telling them that 1500 swabs collected on their arrival at Srinagar airport on 8 May are “missing”.
