DC Shopian reviews transportation of cherry fruit from district

SHOPIAN, MAY 19: - In view of the forthcoming harvesting season of cherry fruit in the district, Deputy Commissioner Shopian Choudhary Mohammad Yasin today convened a meeting to review the transportation of cherry fruit from district Shopian.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Horticulture Officer, all Tehsildars, President Fruit Growers Association Shopian and others concerned attended the meeting.
During the meeting threadbare discussion were held regarding the harvesting and transportation of the produce, The DC directed the traders to avoid large gatherings and deposit the cherry fruit boxes in the fruit mandi by or before 11:00 am and loading of cherry fruit will be done after 11:00 am.
It was informed a maximum of only 10 trucks will be allowed in the Mandi and the whole process will take place in the old fruit Mandi Arhama.
It was also informed that the group of 40 people (trader, labourers) will be allowed inside the Mandi premises with proper SOP and arriving truck drivers will not be allowed to come out of the truck till the truck leaves from mandi after loading.
The DC directed the HPM, Fruit Growers Association and Shopian Fruit Mandi Committee that they shall be responsible for managing and maintaining the flow of people inside the mandi.
All truck requiring movement passes will be issued by the Deputy Commissioner through HPM.
DC directed the Assistant commissioner Shopian to make necessary orders for magistrate deployment and further directed Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian to make necessary security arrangements for the same.
