Please tell us more about Nikita Tak as a person.

Nikita Tak is a cool person who loves doing something that constantly gives her mental stimulation. Apart from writing, she also loves to research about numerology and astrology.

Has writing always been a part of your life? Or did you chance upon it later on and then instantly fell in love with it?

When I was 20 years old and was pursuing graduation in commerce, I wrote a random poetry. Since then, somewhere in the back of my mind I knew that someday I will take up my writing hobby to the next level. Moreover, my love for technology inspired me to try hands on hard science fiction. And my love for medical science research led me to write medical fiction works. And the rest is history. Though, I have a very long way to go.

You have recently released the cover of your 4th book “The First Sip Of My Red Wine”. The book is of which genre and when is it going to be released?

It is a collection of poetry and the random thoughts that click in my mind on a daily basis, and also as per my experiences. The release date of the book is not yet decided. It will either be by the end of 2020 or beginning of 2021.

Can you tell us more about this book? What can the readers expect?

This book will thrill readers to bits. All the intense poetry will keep the poetry readers engrossed.

How did the idea of writing this book emerge?

The idea for this book came up after watching the good response by readers for my first book, “The First Sip Of My Morning Coffee”.

Two of your previous books are titled “The First Sip Of My Morning Coffee” and “The Chocolate Cake”, and the title of this book contains the word Red Wine. Can you tell us more about why you include names of foods and beverages in the titles of your books? Is it to make readers drool?

This brought a smile on my face. Well, I titled my first book, “The First Sip Of My Morning Coffee” because one of the poems in that book has this same line, and while writing that poetry I was attracted to that line so I thought this title would go best for this book. The second book is titled “The Chocolate Cake” because it goes in sync with the happy ending scene in book. For my 4th book, I have chosen the words Red Wine because it will go in sync with some intense poetry in the book.

What are your favourite books? Can you share with our esteemed readers about the genres that you like and your favourite authors?

“Coma” by Robin Cook, Robot series books by Isaac Asimov, “Around The World in 80 Days” by Jules Verne, Crossfire series by Sylvia Day, to name a few. I also love reading poetry a lot. My favourite poets are Robert Burns, Percy Bysshe Shelly, William Wordsworth, John Keats and many more.

What do you think is the literary scenario in contemporary Indian English fiction?

Indian literature is getting recognized worldwide ever since Rabindranath Tagore’s era. Indian writers are exploring new ways of writing and this will go on.

You are also a passionate blogger. Which themes or topics do you like to blog about?

I like to write about food, books, technology, fashion, etc.

What are your other interests apart from writing?

I love cooking, reading books, listening to music, technology advancement research, and researching about numerology and astrology.

There are many new writers and poets who are aspiring to get their work published. What would you say to them?

“Just follow your passion”, is all I would love to say them. The more you practice, gradual improvement will be seen in your literary works.

Can you share with our readers a motivational quote that keeps you going?

It's better to look back on life and say: "I can't believe I did that,” than to look back and say: "I wish I did that.” - This thought inspires me the most.
