DC Anantnag Convenes meeting for purchase of masks

Handovers over 400 PPE kits and 1000 surgical masks to Deputy CMO

ANANTNAG, APRIL 7: The Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Mr. Bashir Ahamad Dar today handed 400 PPE Kits and 1000 surgical masks to Deputy CMO, Anantnag for use in Trauma Hospital, Bijbehara at DC Office Anantnag.
The ADC, ACR and other senior officers were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, the ACR, Anantnag also handed over 1000 Masks to ACD, Anantnag for free distribution among the needy persons.
The Deputy Commissioner also convened a meeting of officers of Health, KVIB, Industries, NRLM and RDD to ensure the manufacturing and availability of masks in the district. The committee under the supervision of ADDC Khawaja Nazir Ahmad with its members including CMO Anantnag, functional manager DIC, ACD, DPO, and manager KVIB will ensure the manufacturing and availability of 13 lac masks required for the district including 6.20lac for PHH and AAY families on subsidized rates.
He directed the committee to ensure the free distribution of masks among orphans and destitute. The meeting of the taskforce committee of the said members will be held today to finalize the order for purchase of the masks from the PMEGP, SSI, KVIB & NRLM unit holders at a rate of Rs.10 to Rs.12 per mask.
The committee members informed the meeting that KVIB, NRLM, and PMEGP SSI units together can manufacture 5000 multipurpose masks daily.
It was also given out in the meeting that the Task force committee after consultation will place orders to the all unit holders. The CMO has been asked to check the quality of the material used in making the masks.
The ACD and DPO Anantnag will direct BDOs for framing committees in the 335 Panchayat Halqas of the district involving BDC chairperson, Aashas, Patwaries and two religious leaders from each village to ensure proper sanitation, awareness about personal hygiene and social distancing to avoid the Covid- 19 infection.
