COVID19: District administration Rajouri provides free ration to stranded, migrant labourers

RAJOURI, APRIL 04: In a bid to facilitate the supply of food and other essentials to inter-district migrant labourers and workers who are stranded in the district due to lockdown announced following the coronavirus pandemic, the district administration under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today distributed free ration packets among 118 stranded labourer families in Manhas Mohalla and other adjoining areas of the district.
Deputy Commissioner while speaking on the occasion has appealed the general public, volunteers and media persons to help the district administration in distributing ration and essentials to the people who are in dire need during lockdown period. He said that the district administration has issued an advisory for the NGOs, social/religious organization who desire to distribute essentials among the impoverished should intimate the district administration well before the distribution of essentials so that necessary protocol could be maintained.
He urged the NGOs/social/religious organization to feed the stray dogs, birds moving hungry as animals and birds are also most affected and often ignored creatures in the times of disaster.
The DC also urged upon the distressed families to stick to the SOPs and guidelines of lockdown by staying at their places and also assured them that they will be supplied with sufficient food and other essentials and they need not panic.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh, Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs, Mukhtar Ahmed lone, Tehsildar Rajouri, Sheraz Chouhan, District Information Officer Rajouri, Narinder Kumar, Chairperson BDC Rajouri, Shafiq Mir, VC MC Rajouri, Bharat Bhushan and Ward Councilors.
