Mumbai, Feb 27: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) dropped by 345 points at 39,543.03 in opening trade following foreign outflow amid heavy selling in most of the stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too declined by 104.70 points at 11,573.80.

The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 39,947.80 and 39,423.27 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded day intra day high and low at 11,663.85 and 11,367.70 points respectively.

The sectoral indices like Materials, Consumer Durable, Realty, FMCG, Finance and Bankex stocks kept the market down in early trade.

The losers were M & M by 2.26 per cent to Rs 492.10, HCl Tech by 2.01 per cent to Rs 572.25, IndusInd Bank by 1.94 per cent to Rs 1113, Powergrid by 1.88 per cent to Rs 182.60 and ONGC by 1.67 per cent to Rs 94.20.

The gainers were Sun Pharma by 0.49 per cent to Rs 310.20, Titan by 1.37 per cent to Rs 1272.75, Asian Paints by 0.10 per cent to Rs 1828.35 and Kotak Bank by 0.05 per cent to Rs 1667.
