Saurabh Bhagat reviews working of J&K Building & Other Construction Welfare Board

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 26- Commissioner Secretary, Labour & Employment, Saurabh Bhagat, today chaired a meeting to review progress on implementation of various ongoing schemes for Building & Other Construction workers.
Director Finance, Barkat Hussain, CEO Secretary, Muzaffar Ahmad Peer, Additional Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, Showkat Ahmad, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Abdul Sattar and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Commissioner Secretary reviewed progress on various schemes including Marriage Assistance Scheme, Old Age Pension Scheme, Disability Pension Scheme besides taking stock of progress on relaxation of rule in respect of BOC workers who have died as inactive workers.
Commissioner Secretary deliberated that a draft proposal for restoration of Muhafiz Schemes at the earliest be sent to Administrative Department as the same provides various benefits to the construction workers of the J&K including extension of the Insurance scheme of the Suraksha Bheema Yojna.
The CEO apprised that the total Cess collection of this year is high as compared to previous year and efforts are being made by the Board for digitization of accounts of beneficiaries of Education Scholarship, Medical Allowance and digitization of all accounts.
Director Finance apprised the Commissioner Secretary that as per directions issued by the Finance Department it is being ensured that digitization of all the accounts with Adhaar Seeding is made mandatory so that all the payments will be made through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
