Renovate court complexes within 3 months: FC Fin

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 26: Financial Commissioner, Finance Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, today directed the concerned authorities to ensure completion of renovation works on all the court complexes within next 3 months.
Mehta issued these directions while reviewing progress on the decisions taken in a meeting held between Chief Justice, J&K High Court and Chief Secretary, J&K on 28/12/2019.
The meeting was attended by Law Secretary, Achal Sethi, Registrar General, J&K High Court, Sanjay Dhar and representatives from Revenue, Public Works and Law department.
Dr. Mehta stressed on the officers to complete necessary e-tendering process in the month of April after obtaining administrative approval and technical sanction in each case. He asked that no work should be done without these requisite formalities.
He maintained that Judiciary is a significant pillar of democracy so the institutions of justice delivery should be in the best shape for disbursing their functions smoothly. He stated that government would liberally fund all such projects that aim at making this vital institution strong and efficient.
Several projects were reviewed during this meeting which inter alia include renovation of court complexes at Akhnoor, Kishtwar, Dooru, Pampore and Tral. Besides new judicial infrastructure development at various locations like Billawar, Basholi, Qazigund, Pahalgam, Hiranagar, and Handwara was also assessed.
The meeting further discussed various land acquisition cases for raising new court complexes and additional office accommodations. Other issues which were deliberated upon included installation of CCTV cameras in various complexes and landscaping of few others.
The meeting was informed that many of the projects have already been taken up and are at different stages of execution.
