Raise issues of their concern, seek prompt redressal

JAMMU, FEBURARY 26: Commissioner Secretary, School Education and Social Welfare Department, Hirdesh Kumar and Secretary, Relief, Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Disaster Management Department, Simrandeep Singh listened to people’s grievances in a day long public hearing held here today.
As many as, 50 deputations and a large number of individuals from Samba, Kathua, Doda, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Kishtwar, Udhampur, R S Pura, Vijaypur among other areas met the Administrative Secretaries and highlighted their issues and concerns.
A deputation of students from Jammu district demanded revision of academic calendar for Bi-Annual Summer Zone, Jammu Division so that the students can take admission without any problem.
A deputation led by Naib Sarpanch of Panchayat Halqa Phinder Block Mira Sahib demanded sanctioning of new Examination Hall and Centre at Government High School Phinder.
A deputation from Panchayat Halqa Ladda Block Mougri demanded infrastructure and adequate staff in the newly upgraded Higher Secondary School Ladda.
Various individuals also highlighted their demands regarding Urdu subject in Government Higher Secondary School Khara Madana Bari Brahmana, repair and renovation of school building at village Batibass Khari Ramban, regularization of I/c Lecturer (dropout) as lecturer in Urdu subject in education department and one time settlement under PMDP relief package.
The Administrative Secretaries gave patient hearing to the deputationists and assured them that their genuine demands would be fulfilled on priority basis. They also gave on the spot directions to the concerned authorities for early redressal of people’s grievances projected during the public hearing.
Deputy Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation (M) Jammu, Deepika Rana, Deputy Secretary Education Tanveer-ul-Majid; Director School Education Anuradha Gupta; Joint Director Education, Showkat Malik besides other senior officers of concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
