JAMMU/SRINAGAR: Pakistani Army on Saturday resorted to unprovoked firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) for the second consecutive day in Poonch and Kupwara districts.
While the Qasba, Shahpur and Kirni sectors of Poonch district were targeted on Saturday morning, the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Keran and Karnah sectors of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district late evening.
All these sectors were targeted by Pakistan on Friday as well.
Defence officials said Indian army was giving a befitting response to Pakistani aggression.
“The soldiers manning the fence also responded the fire strongly,” they said, adding there were no immediate reports of any damage on Indian side.
