Handicraft Deptt organizes awareness camp at village Gharrian

UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 19: In order to educate the artisans of the district regarding various schemes launched by the Handicrafts Department, a daylong awareness camp was organized by the department at village Gharrian Tehsil Chenani of district Udhampur.
A large number of people from Sarori, Gharrian, Kund, Nukulta and Dhanas participated in the event.
Assistant Director Handicrafts, Udhampur N.D Verma highlighted various schemes run by the department like training programmes, artisans registration and sponsorship for financial assistance, formation of co-operative societies and sale facilities available.
During the camp, the speakers guided the participants to take Handicrafts as source of earning and livelihood and get themselves registered as artisans in the district office.
Among others, Handicrafts Training Officer, Kishori Lal, representatives of PRIs besides artisans and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
