DDC reviews progress on languishing projects, Back to Village Programme
Asks officers to ensure completion of all projects within the set deadline
KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 17: District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara, today reviewed the status of languishing projects besides taking detailed review of works taken in hand post ‘Back to Village-2’ programme relating to various sectors including RDD, PDD, PHE, R&B, Education, Animal and Sheep husbandry, Urban Development and Industries at a meeting of all line departments.
ADDC Kishtwar, Mohd. Hanief Malik, CEO KDA, Anil Sharma, Joint Director Planning, Mohd. Iqbal, ACD Kishtwar, Kishore Singh Katoch, SE PDD, DFO Kishtwar and Marwah, Executive Engineers, BDO's besides district officers were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, DDC undertook work-wise physical and financial review of progress on projects undertaken by different departments and funded under the languishing project scheme. He assessed the status of technical sanctioning, administrative approval and tendering progress of several projects.
The meeting also discussed the challenges faced by the departments in smooth implementation of certain projects.
DDC expressed concern over poor performance of Hydraulics department and asked the concerned officers and officials to accelerate the pace of progress on all projects being executed in the district so that these could be completed in time.
DDC instructed CAHO Kishtwar to monitor and keep check on all the pending languishing works of Animal Husbandry department. He asked him to ensure utilization of funds in full for completion of all pending languishing works by 20th of March 2020.
While reviewing the works under Back to Village programme, DDC was informed that 136 works have been allotted wherein 100 works were taken up by different departments and 36 works by RDD in convergence with 14FC and MGNREGA.
