71st Republic Day celebrated across Kashmir Division

SRINAGAR: Like other parts of the country, 71st Republic-Day functions were held across Kashmir Division with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor.

AT KULGAM, the main function was held at District police lines Kulgam where District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, hoisted the National flag and took salute at the March past presented by the contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKP ladies police group, SSB, Home guard, fresh recruits, NCC cadets and school children.

Cultural programs and Martial Arts were presented on the occasion.

District Development Commissioner, highlighted developmental activities and achievements of district, on the occasion.

He said that work on various developmental projects is apace including 25 mega languishing projects will be completed by this March.

Besides Rs 25.13 crore under PM-KISAN have been disbursed among beneficiaries through DBT mode while under PMMVY, Rs 1.68 crore were disbursed among pregnant women’s in the district.

All the panchayts were covered under prestigious Back to Village program and work on various projected works is in progress and several work projects have been completed.

SSP Kulgam, Gurinderpaul Singh, ADDC, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi, ADC, Shabir Hussain Bhat, Commandant CRPF 18th BTN, Garau Singh , other civil and police officers besides members of PRI’s and locals participated in the event.

In Sub Division D.H.Pora, tehsil headquarters and Blocks of the district similar functions were organized.

AT SHOPIAN, the main function was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian where Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner Shopian Chaudhary Mohammad Yaseen hoisted National flag and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of CRPF, JKP, Home Guard, Fire and Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force and school students.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Senior Officers of Army, CRPF, district & sectoral officers and engineers of all the departments were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of the day and also presented a detailed report on developments registered in the district. He said that Zainapora Bridge atRs 3.98 Crore, Gujjar & Bakarwal Hostel Shopian at Rs 3.17 Crore and Reshnagri Bridge at Rs16.50 Crore have been completed.

While under Market Intervention Scheme (2019-20) as many as 4.217 lac apple boxes worthRs30.10 Crore were dispatched outside UT.

Eight room Lecture Hall in Govt. Degree College, Shopian has been completed at an expenditure of Rs5.35 Crore and Auditorium Block at Degree College, Shopian coming up at Rs 7.12 crore is nearing completion.

The work on 44 – Languishing projects coming up at Rs70.84 Crore is in full swing. Besides 95 works including 28 Bore wells coming up at Rs 4.56 crore are under progress under Back to Village program and 79 road projects under various schemes are in progress at Rs176.11 crore.

The Jal Jeevan Mission (Har Ghar Nul) will provide tape water to ever House hold by June 2020 while under Pradhan Mantri Development Package (PMDP-Urban) - 10 MVA Receiving Station near District Administrative Complex Shopianare nearing completion &will be commissioned soon. Work on 12PHC and NTPHC buildings is also apace.

A colorful Cultural programs were presented by the students on the occasion.

Later, DC distributed cash prizes and awards among the meritorious students.

The day was also celebrated at Zainapora and tehsil headquarters.

AT BANDIPORA: The main function was held at SK Stadium Bandipora where Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza unfurled the flag and inspected the parade.

SSP, Bandipora, Rahul Malik, ADC, Bandipora, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Joint Director, Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad, officers of civil administration, police, army, besides Panchayat representatives were present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the DC Bandipora highlighted the importance of the day and highlighted the achievements registered in the district.

He said that the Patushai Grid station will soon be commissioned to end the power crisis in the district.

Besides work on other developmental projects including District Hospital, TRC Saderkoot, Polytechnic College complex, Arin-Bapora bridge and Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel is apace and will be completed by the end of the year.

He said to celebrate the birth of girl child and to ensure her education, good health and to generate awareness about the importance of girl child in society, the district administration celebrated Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Week earlier this year and constituted a group of 151 Lady Ambassadors who visited 151 Panchayats of the district to highlight rights of girl child.

DC Bandipora said the district administration also felicitated 46 meritorious female students with Appreciation Certificates and Cash Prize of Rs 2.20 Lakh.

DC said under PMAY, Rs 24 Crore has been provided to 611 beneficiaries in the district in urban areas. He said the Social Welfare department is providing old age pension to 4000 beneficiaries and has also provided marriage assistance of Rs 1 crore approximately among 240 beneficiaries. He said the Department of labour has also provided an education assistance of Rs 4.34 Cr to the children of laborers under various schemes during the current year.

Later the Deputy Commissioner felicitated the meritorious students of 10th and 12th class besides several officers for their exceptional performance.

Similar programs were also held at Sub-Divisional level in Gurez and Sumbal, where Chief Guests unfurled the national flag and took salute on the march past. Colourful cultural programmes were presented by School Children.

AT BUDGAM: The main function was held at Sports Stadium where Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganai as chief guest unfurled the national flag and took salute at march past presented by contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Home Guards, NCC and school students.

Among others, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Raja Shujaat Ali, SP Budgam, Amod Ashok Nagpure, ADC Budgam, BDC Chairmen, and senior officers of the district attended the function.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Budgam, said that Rs 234 crore are expanded on 115 languishing projects, the work on which is in full swing. The district administration has setup a robust Grievance redressal mechanism ‘Aawaz-e-Budgam’ where people can register their Grievances 24x7.

On the occasion, a cultural program was presented by school children.

Meanwhile the day was also celebrated at Sub division and Tehsil levels in the district where SDMs and Tehsildars unfurled national flag and took salute at march past.

AT BARAMULLA: the day was celebrated at District Police Lines with District Development Commissioner, Dr GN Itoo as the Chief Guest.

GOC 19 Infantry Division, Major General, JP Singh, DIG North, Suliaman Chowdry, DIG, CRPF, SSP Baramulla, ACR, President, Municipal Council, Baramulla, Civil and Police officers were present on the occasion.

The DDC hoisted the national flag and took salute at March Past, presented by the contingents of District Police, CRPF, Fire & Emergency Service, NCC Cadets and School children.

A colorful cultural programme depicting cultural diversity and heritage of the UT was presented by the school children and artists of DIPR.

Similar functions were also held at Sub-Divisional and Tehsil level across the district.

AT GANDERBAL: the District Development Commissioner, Hashmat Ali Khan unfurled the National Flag, took the salute at the march-past,at Gadoora Stadium, here today.

The march past was presented by the contingents of JKP, BSF, CRPF, PTS Manigam, Sashtra Seema Bal, JKAP, SPOs, Home Guards and school children.

Addressing the gathering, the DDC highlighted the achievements registered under various sectors in the district including education, sports, health, agriculture and social welfare.

He said that measures are apace to develop Ganderbal as a modal health hub and Rs 34.56 crore have been expended, so far, for the new district hospital building which will be completed by this August. Besides, work is apace on construction of several Health Centers including PHC Chattergul, PHC Batwina, PHC Gund, PHC Wakura, PHC Sonamarg and NTPHC Narayanabagh.

He said that the district has registered major achievements under various centrally sponsored schemes including MGNREGA and PMAY.

As many as 2033 works under MGNREGA were taken at Rs 863.42 and 34450 job cards were distributed. Similarly 214 works under PMAY were also completed.

Later prizes were distributed among best performers and meritorious students of the district.

Principal District and sessions Judge, Ganderbal, Mohammad Yousuf Wani, SSP, Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal, President Municipality, Ganderbal, Altaf Ahmad, ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba, ACR,BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanchs, Panchs, other civil and police officers were present on the occasion.

Similar functions were held at Kangan where Sub Divisional Magistrate, un-furled the national flag and took salute at March past.

AT ANANTNAG: the main function was held at Government Degree College (Boys) Khanabal, where the Chief Guest, Additional District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Khawaja Nazir Ahmad Qureshi unfurled the national flag and took salute at the March past presented by the contingents of CRPF, IRP, JKP, Women Police, J&K Home Guards, District Police Band (DPL), NCC cadets & school children.

On the occasion the ADDC, Anantnag highlighting the achievements of the district said that work on 126 Languishing Projects coming up at Rs.347 crore is nearing completion.

He said that during Back to Village phase-1 and phase-2, 5652 demands related to power, road connectivity, establishment of Animal Husbandry, Sheep centres, fencing of school premises, setting up of health centres and deployment of adequate doctors and para medical staff in the existing hospitals.

He further said that the construction work on 288 works identified in B2V-1 programme is apace at Rs. 9.54 crore.

The district has registered achievements in other sectors also, he added.

The function was attended by ADDCs, ACR, SEs of PHE, PDD, R&B other district and sectoral officers.

AT KUPWARA: the day was celebrated at District Police Lines Kupwara where Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner (DC),Anshul Garg hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of JKP, JK Armed Police, CRPF, IRP, FPF and school children.

Among others, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara, Shriram Ambarker; Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Mohammad Ashraf Bhat; Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Nazir Ahmad Lone; Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Bashir Ahmad Bhat, BDC Chairpersons, civil and police officers attended the function.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner said Rs.9 crore have been spent under Back to Village Programme and other developmental schemes for construction of basic infrastructure in the district. Besides, for augmentation of the power infrastructure Rs.6 crore has also been expended during the current fiscal.

Under health sector, long pending demand of the patients was fulfilled by commissioning Dialysis and CT Scan machines at Sub District Hospital, Kupwara. He added that a medical college is also coming up at Handwara, work on which is apace.

Under Jal-Jeevan Scheme, 1 lakh households of the district are being covered under piped water supply, he added.

He further said that around 8000 people including destitute, widows and specially-abled persons were covered under various social welfare schemes.

A colorful cultural program was presented by artists and school children.

Later, DC distributed prizes among district officers, field functionaries and school children for the best performance in their domain of activity.

Similarly, day was celebrated at District Police Lines Handwara, where Chief Guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Nazir Ahmad Mir, hoisted the national flag and took salute at March past presented by the contingents of JKP, JK Armed Police, CRPF, BSF and school children.

On the occasion, school children from different schools presented a variety of cultural programs.

Republic Day was also celebrated at Border Sub Division, Karnah, where Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Dr. Bilal Mohiddin hoisted the National Flag and took salute at March past.

AT PULWAMA: the main function was held at District Police Lines Pulwama, during which Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer unfurled the National Flag and took salute at march past presented by the contingents of Police, CRPF, NCC,JKAP ,Home Guard and School Children.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner highlighted achievements registered under various sectors in the district. He said under Jal Jeevan Mission work on 210 water supply Schemes is apace to provide Tap water to all households. While 200 Km road length has been macadamized and upgraded by R&B and PMGSY in the district and Rs 35 crore disbursed through DBT mode to 29,000 beneficiaries under various social Welfare schemes.

DC said that mega project like AIIMSis being constructed in Pulwama .While describing the Upcoming Sirnoo maternity Hospital and Medcity at Lelhar, Pulwama, Deputy Commissioner said that this would boost medical tourism in the District. He further said that in Rajpora, Awantipora and Kakapora degree colleges are also coming up.

To boost agri sector, he said, Bangund village has been adopted as model organic farming village which produces 1200 MT of vegetables in 400 kanals having 72 cluster members.

He said the two indoor stadia are being constructed and flood lights installed at Sports stadium Pulwama while Rs 350 crore are being expended for completion of languishing Project to augment developmental infra.

He added, that under the National Saffron Mission, introduced during 2010-11, at an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore, as many as 3715 hectares of saffron land was proposed to be rejuvenated out of which 1919.35 hectares have been covered so far.

Hailing the establishment of Spice Park at Dusoo, Deputy Commissioner said that the park would not only boost the export of saffron but would also be a major tourist attraction.

On the occasion Cultural program and martial arts were presented by Artists and School Children. The highlight of the program was display of departmental tableaux.
