10th National Voters Day observed across Jammu Division

JAMMU JANUARY 25: National Voters Day was today observed in all districts of Jammu Division with great enthusiasm.
District Legal Services Authority, Jammu under the overall supervision of Secretary DLSA Jammu, Naushad Ahmed Khan today celebrated 10th National Voters Day different places including Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School Shastri Nagar, Govt. Girls Hr. Secondary School Bhalwal, Govt. College for Women Parade, Govt. Degree College, R.S. Pura, Govt. Girls Middle School, Sohal Akhnoor and Govt. Hr. Secondary School Bishnah, with an objective to encourage more young voters to take part in the electoral process in which special emphasis laid on the Theme “Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy”.
Retainer Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Committees Jammu & Tehsil Legal Services Committee’s Jammu, Bishnah, Akhnoor and R.S Pura made aware the students about the significance of the Day.
AT SAMBA: District Administration today organized a programme at Government Degree College Samba to celebrate the 10th National Voters Day in which newly enrolled voters were handed over EPIC cards, mementos were distributed among officers and symposium competition was held among students about election process and principles of democracy.
Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion. Senior Superintended of Police, Shakti Pathak presided over the function.
A debate competition on the topic Electoral Literacy and Democracy principles was also organized on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, DC said that the young generations of the country need to be aware about the election process and the democracy being the most important Pillar of our nation.
Voter ID cards were also distributed among the newly enrolled students.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Gupta, Assistant Commissioner, Kulbhushan Khajuria, Dy. District Election Officer, Rajeev Magotra, Principal Govt. Degree College samba, Dr. Sushma Gupta, besides District officers and students were also present on the occasion.
AT KATHUA: To celebrate the National Voters Day, the district administration made elaborate arrangements to ensure that the day shall also be observed at every booth, block and tehsil level to sensitize all the eligible voters.
The main function was organized at Govt. Degree College for Women where Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat was the chief guest.
ACD, Sukhpal Singh, ACR, Devinder Paul, ASP, Ramnish Gupta, CPO, Uttam Singh, DSWO, Abdul Rahim, CEO, Principal Degree College, other District Officers and Deputy District Election Officer, Ashwani Kumar besides students in large numbers were present on this occasion.
DC said that the essence of celebrating National Voters Day is to encourage the eligible Voters to get themselves registered and shall cast their right to franchise without any bias.
Pledge taking ceremony was also held on the occasion besides prizes were distributed among the winner students who participated in the symposium, painting and other activities.
Similar programmes were also organized at all the tehsil headquarters and at all the polling station across the district where programmes were held with zeal and dedication.
District Legal Services Authority under the chairmanship of Pawan Dev Kotwal, Chairman, DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Kathua, celebrated National Voters Day at Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Kathua to spread awareness amongst students about the importance and value of casting their vote.
Besides this National Voters day was also celebrated by Tehsil Legal Services Committee Billawar, Hiranagar, Mahanpur, Basohli and Bani .
AT RAMBAN: District administration organized the main function at Higher Secondary School, Ramban to celebrate 10th National Voters’ Day.
District Election Officer, Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan handed over EPICs to many a new young voters in the presence of CJM, Ramban Amit Sharma, Chairman BDC Ramban Amjad Ali, ASP Ramban, Sanjay Parihar, Deputy DEO, Ravinder Sharma, CEO, CMO, CHO, ALC, DPO, ARTO, EO MC, various district officers, teachers, ASHA, Anganwadi workers and students.
DEO also administered an oath to all participants to pledge for reposing an unflinching faith in the Indian democracy, being a sincere, unbiased, fearless and responsible voter. Later, he flagged off an awareness rally of the students of different schools.
Meanwhile, the National Voters Day was celebrated at Batote, Gool, Banihal, Ramsoo, tehsil headquarters and government offices across the district.
AT POONCH: A mega event was held at Government Degree College Poonch to celebrate 10th National Voters Day in Poonch in which Principal District and Sessions Judge, Madan Lal was the chief guest on the occasion.
District Mobile Magistrate, ADDC, Deputy DEO, ACR, Principal GDC Poonch, CEO, CMO, CAHO, CHO, students, Principals and staff of different educational institutions participated in the celebration of National Voters Day.
A rally was flagged off by Principal District and Sessions Judge to spread the awareness on the theme Electoral Literacy for stronger Democracy in which large numbers of students participated. The rally was conducted from DC office Complex to GDC Poonch.
The Electors Photo Identity Cards were also given to Students who recently attained the age of 18 years.
After the program a signature campaign was also held.
AT RAJOURI: District administration celebrated the 10th National Voters Day to spread awareness about the necessity of voting and encourage the young generation to exercise their franchise.
District Election Officer Mohammad Nazir Sheikh flagged off an awareness rally which started from DC Office complex and culminated at PWD Dakbunglow Rajouri. District, Block Level Officers, BDC Chairperson, general public, NSS volunteers from GDC Rajouri and students from other schools participated in the rally.
DEO highlighted the importance of the day and said that the Election Commission’s objective behind celebration of National Voters’ Day is to increase enrolment of voters, especially of the newly eligible ones. He impressed upon the voters to ensure their greater participation in the elections for strengthening democracy.
BDC Chairperson Rajouri, Darbar Chowdary urged upon the students to show their active role in spreading awareness among the public about the election process.
30 Epic cards were also distributed besides pledge taking ceremony was also held during the event. Senior officers of the district administration were present on the occasion.
AT KISHTWAR, To mark the 10th National Voters' Day and to encourage newly enrolled voters for participation in electoral process with the theme "Electoral Literacy for Stronger Democracy", an impressive function was held today at New DC Complex Kishtwar.
District Election Officer, Angrez Singh Rana was the chief guest on the occasion and SSP Kishtwar Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta was the guest of honor.
DEO stressed on educating new voters about the ethical and qualitative participation in the electoral process. He appealed all the eligible voters to enroll themselves as electors in the electoral roll.
During the programme, various activities were held including voters pledge to the participants besides distribution of EPIC Cards to newly enrolled voters and felicitation of best performing Officers/Officials for their outstanding performance during the Lok Sabha elections 2019 in the district.
Meanwhile, DEO and SSP also flagged off a rally on National Voters day from District Headquarter Kishtwar.
Similar functions were also held across the District at Sub-Divisions, Tehsil Headquarters and all the polling stations.
AT REASI: Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib chaired the function organized to celebrate 10th National Voters Day.
While her address, DC laid stress on educating young and newly enrolled voters. She also praised the large yet fair and robust electoral process of India.
The DC distributed EPIC cards among first time voters also distributed hearing aids and a wheelchair among voters with special needs.
District Sessions Judge, Kamlesh Pandit also spoke on the occasion and said suggested to help students in online voter enrolment.
Deputy District Election Officer and ACR, Sanjay Badyal; SSP, Rashmi Wazir, Chief Planning Officer, Kamal Sharma and Assitant Commissioner Development, Anirudh Rai among various district officers, elected members of Reasi municipality and students were present on the occasion.
AT UDHAMPUR: District Administration celebrated 10th National Voter’s Day at District Head Quarter Udhampur.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ashok Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion.
Senior officers of different departments, representative of colleges, schools, social and Non Governmental Organizations, prominent citizens and large number of students of various institutions were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC said that the main objective of celebrating this day is to strengthen our democratic system by creating awareness among the young and future voters regarding the importance of their vote. He urged the students present during the programme to generate awareness among all the eligible voters present in their surroundings about the importance of their vote.
Similarly, National Voters Day was also celebrated at subdivision, Tehsil and booth level of the district.
AT DODA: An impressive function was held today at Town Hall Doda to celebrate the 10th National Voters' Day and encourage newly enrolled voters for participation in electoral process.
District Election Officer Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode was the chief guest on the occasion.
DEO Doda stressed on to educate and aware new voters about the ethical and qualitative participation in the electoral process.
He asked the authorities of education department to establish Electoral Literacy Clubs in all the institution's across the district.
During the programme, various activities were held including voters pledge to the participants besides display of EVM-VVPAT and felicitation of best performing Officers/Officials for their outstanding performance during the Lok Sabha/BDC elections 2019 in the district.
Similar functions were also held across the District at Sub-Divisions and special camp was also organised for the enrollment of new voter's at town hall Doda.
Senior officers of different departments were present on the occasion.
Voters day was celebrated at Bhadarwah in which students from various schools and local youth took out a rally carrying placards from ADC Office to Dak Bunglow Bhadarwah.
