As his colleagues in Cabinet started returning to national capital after reaching out to public in Jammu and Kashmir for past one week, the prime minister Narendra Modi has asked them to ensure that all projects related to the union territory are completed on a war footing.

While 38 ministers were briefed to work in this direction before they embarked to UT last Saturday, the ministers who have been calling upon the PM to brief him of their experience are being told to follow up the projects, so that Centre does not lose the trust of people.

The PM has told the ministers back in Delhi, to ensure that they keep track of all the projects that they inaugurated during the visit so that these works are completed on time, said one of the leaders who was a part of this program.

“This will ensure that the people there do not lose faith in the government,” the PM said.

Modi emphasised that in the absence of elected representatives in the erstwhile state, it is imperative that the central leadership monitors the projects.

Modi has also instructed the ministers to come up with solutions to address the vacuum in absence of local representatives and to strengthen panchayat and block level representatives.
