ICDS celebrates National Girl Child Day in Pulwama

PULWAMA, JANUARY 24: The Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) department today celebrated National Girl Child Day under the banner BBBP here at Govt Degree College Pulwama.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr Raghav Langer was the chief guest at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the celebration of this day is to to increase living space of girls in the society. He said that be it sports, literature, science or education, the girls have proven their mettle in every field which needs to be appreciated and felicitated. He further said that all the line departments should work in tandem to address the skewed sex ratio.
BDC chairman also spoke on the occasion.
On the occasion, songs, Ladishah , skits and dramas were presented on the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” theme.
Later, DC felicitated the mothers of newly born girl child with baby kits.
District Programme Officer, Principal Degree College, BDC Chairman, CDPO’s, Anganwadi Workers and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
