Public Outreach programme : Rameswar Teli visits Ramban, inaugurates Rs 2.82 cr girls hostel

RAMBAN, JANUARY, 23: As part of public outreach programme launched by the Centre Government for the Union Territory of J&K, Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Rameswar Teli today visited Ramban and addressed a mammoth gathering at Kanthi.
Deputy Commissioner, Nazim Zai Khan, SSP, Anita Sharma, Director Horticulture, Raj Kumar Katoch, senior officers, BDC Chairpersons, PRIs and locals were present on the occasion.
The Union Minister inaugurated one hundred bedded Girls Hostel at Kanthi constructed with a cost of Rs. 2.82 crore under RMSA besides planting saplings of different species in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Kanthi.
He also inspected the stalls established by the Agriculture and Horticulture departments.
Meanwhile, the Union Minister highlighted various schemes launched by the Center government for socio-economic empowerment of people like Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PMAY, Khelo India and several other social schemes. "It is the endeavour of the Union Government to ensure that all possibilities are explored to develop Jammu and Kashmir as a model UT.
Minister said that various projects are being implemented in the UTs of J&K and Ladakh for which 80,000 crore have already been sanctioned by the PM and government is keen to complete the ongoing projects with focus on railway and four laning projects on priority basis.
He assured that his ministry would organise skill development programmes for women of hilly and far-flung district of Ramban so that they can start their own food processing units to improve their socio- economic status. He also asked youth to start their own business units under various schemes and assured them full cooperation from his department.
He assured the people that all their issues including provision of more tunnels in the ongoing four laning project between Ramban to Banihal, Trauma Centre in Ramban, up-gradation of roads, shortage of staff in Health and Education institutions besides augmentation of power supply system, would be taken up with the concerned ministries for redressal.
Meanwhile, the Union MoS disbursed financial assistance to poor girls under State Marriage Assistance Scheme besides presenting Ayushman Bharat cards, sanction letters of loan under self employment schemes and felicitating the meritorious students.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner gave brief information about development activities going on under different sectors across the district.
