DDC Anantnag reviews progress made under DEDS

ANANTNAG, JANUARY 22: The District development Commissioner Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting to review the progress made under Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS) in the district Anantnag.
The CAHO Anantnag informed the meeting that under DEDS 395 cases were sponsored and under special DEDS 250 cases were sponsored to various banks while under KCC dairy 2944 cases were sponsored out of which 1299 cases have been sanctioned and 265 cases disbursed.
The meeting was informed that 633 cases under ‘Ten Cows per Dairy Unit’ scheme have been sanctioned in the district till December 2019. The directed the concerned authorities to ensure disbursement to the sanctioned cases.
The DDC said that the scheme aims to promote setting up of modern dairy forms for production of milk and to encourage heifer calf rearing, besides conserving good breeding stock and to bring changes in the dairy sector so that initial processing of milk can be taken up at the village level.
The meeting was attended byBranch heads of JK bank Verinag ,Bijbehara, Sallar, Pahalgam, Mehand, Doru and Vailoo. Sizeable number beneficiaries were also present on the occasion.
